I apologize, we have gotten quite busy, guess I’ll have to do some archival inserting for accuracy, but wanted to get an update up! We have a close date… 10 am October 28
3 weeks from tomorrow… that’s right, time to panic!

The entryway chandeliers were sized bigger than expected, but wow what a statement

The dining room beams are looking good, Xander is a bit concerned that he can touch the light fixture…

The big room is looking like a real place to hang out, rangetop partially installed today. We are waiting on electric on Thursday to finish appliance install.

Yummy, three ovens in one space! That’s a speedcook/microwave/convection/warming oven above a regular oven above a convection oven

The guest bath off the media room, can’t wait for Chris and Kerri to be our fist guests in 5 weeks for Jenn and Dante’s wedding!

Kid’s bath is looking good, it was an amazing day when we got plumbing

Gotta recap my favorite area!

Floors are looking good and so is Jacqi!

Check out the hardware

The entryway ceiling is looking gorgeous

Wood beams are in the living room

Granite in the master is fun

Ahh, kitchen granite and the backsplash begins!

The color is up on the stucco, and the rain is showing our drainage issues… better to see them now.

Staining on the beams.
The walls appear painted and the trim is painted… need some feedback on this. we originally wanted a darker contrast trim, and then changed the order. Apparently they didn’t tell the painter, so our trim is mocha instead of Decorator White (same as wall color). What does everyone think of the trim. My concern is that the trim is very warm and we are planning to go with cool colors and I think the trim looks a bit pinky.

The island is more taupe and grey than the trim.

Stucco looks like an incredibly messy process. I think we may have gotten a bit of rain yesterday, just enough to make it even muddier.

Wow, the prime coat (I’m guessing here) is really white, but then again we are having the whole interior of the house painted a bright white the same as the trim. I know it feels fundamentally wrong for people who love color, but I also love a crisp white ceiling and apparently this is the easiest way to do that. Also, while I feel good about painting walls, 10-14 foot ceilings is a bit more than I can handle.

Full stucco prep is done. We have garage doors!

The interior has trim and cabinets! amazing what a difference a day can make!

They are gettin more excited as the house begins to look like a real home!

The study ceiling is going to be a work of art on its own

The kids and I stopped by and heard a funky sound. This poor hummingbird had flown in and was trapped in the tray ceiling. It was trying so hard to fly up and out.

It was landing on the wiring for the ceiling fan to rest… We went and got blooms from flowers and I rigged a ladder and made a trail out the back door of blooms and red coke cans…

It wasn’t the only wildlife we found signs of… These look like raccoon tracks in the master bath

And out the back of the house

And we have trim in the garage
And I spied our cabinets being stored down the street! We have garage door installed and a big old stack of all the interior doors.
UPDATE: went by this morning and the hummingbird was gone. The came after 4 yesterday and textured the house and cleaned up, no dead body, so my hope is that the poor thing made it out and not turned into supper
Sunset at the house. A great visit with all four of us. Met another family out walking their little 5 month old baby girls.
The taping really makes the supports show up where our beams will someday go. The arches and rounded corners are looking great.
The level of detail on our complex ceilings is awesome to see.

Drywall is coming along. It’s amazing how it looks about the same from the outside, but really is starting to feel like a house inside.
The roof has been repaired following the rain (we had a section that was being redone that got exposed to the rain)

Here’s a good closeup of the beadboard ceiling on the patio and a good shot of the wire mesh that the stucco will be installed over.

We’ve got in wall insulation! Also the house is full of drywall, so shouldn’t be long now

I think the 14 foot cathedral ceiling in the office is almost a piece of art… It is going to be incredible with the wood beams up

Anyone else excited about my new super awesome kitchen!!! I am in love with the sheer number of arches in this home
